Your Inauthenticity Is Killing You

Listen up. I see you, and I see right through you.

Your inauthenticity is killing you.

I see you hiding behind a mask of half-truths, omissions, and lies.

I see you trying to please everyone and be everything to everyone, but in the process, you’re losing yourself.

I see you putting on an act, for followers and likes or because you’ve decided that’s how a CEO has to be.

I see you refusing to be direct and honest in your communication, either to protect yourself or the people you’re talking to.

I see the ways you apologize for taking up space, and pretend to be something you’re not, even if you don’t see it.

And every day you have to put on the costume. That stinky, smelly latex mask of bravado, the itchy sackcloth of protection, and those tight, ill-fitting shoes that trample all over you every time you say yes when you mean no.

You turn to drink, drugs, porn, shopping or whatever else to ‘relax’, to numb the pain of pretending.

Pretending that everything is fine.

Pretending that you can do it alone.

Pretending that this life is a true expression of who you really are.

I get it, I really do. You’ve been hurt before, and you’re trying to protect yourself from being hurt again. You’re scared of rejection, so you’re hiding your true self. But let me tell you, this survival mechanism that worked for you as a child does not serve you as an adult.

It’s killing you, it’s killing your business, and it’s killing the people around you. It’s time to STOP.

Your inability to say no, your over-giving and under-receiving, is draining you of your energy and life force. You’re sacrificing your own needs and desires for the sake of others, but in doing so, you’re losing touch with who you really are.

I am pissed. I see your potential, and I see how you’re holding yourself back. You have so much to offer this world, but you’re playing small. You’re afraid of being seen, of being vulnerable, of being rejected. Scared of actually LIVING..

I care deeply about you and your journey. I want to help you shed the layers of inauthenticity and show up in the world as your true self. I want to help you find the courage to say no when you need to, to be direct and honest in your communication, and to be unapologetically yourself. I want you to create an IMPACT.

I want you to create an impact before you even open your mouth. You know when someone walks into a room and everyone stops what they are doing to listen? Not because they are afraid, but because they are in the presence of someone with truly authentic power. I see that for you.

And I know how hard it is. I know how devious, how sneaky your fear is. How logical, reasonable and factual your arguments for staying exactly the same are. Because mine are the same.

This post. Being THIS direct, is an edge for me. It’s uncomfortable. It stings. If you are reading this and saying to yourself, “He’s not talking to me. I’m totally authentic.” If that’s you, WE NEED TO TALK. You can’t see the water you swim in.

Imagine, for a second. Imagine a world where you said no when you meant no. Where you said what you meant and owned the impact of that. Where the things you think are the same things you say, and the things you say are the things you do. Where you allowed yourself to FEEL everything you have suppressed for the last 20,30,40,50 years. A world without hiding. Lying. Pleasing. Apologizing. A world of real integrity.

Imagine a world where you have let go of the shame of pretending. The weight of the perfection show. A world where you feel safe and confident IN your mess, as a beautiful, whole human being who loves, emotes, has fears and vulnerabilities, and who has immense power BECAUSE OF, not in spite of, all those things.

Sounds good, right?

So, let’s do this. Let’s do it together. Let’s strip away the layers of protection and get to the core of who you really are. Let’s work through the pain and the fear and the self-doubt. Let’s unleash the unstoppable creative force within you and unleash your wild, passionate love.

Your inauthenticity is killing you, but it doesn’t have to. Let’s work together to create a life that is authentic, fulfilling, and true to who you really are.
